Welcome to MangaReaderNeko (developed and operated by MangaReaderNeko Team, “we,” “us,” or “our”). We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information when you use our mobile application and related services (the “Service”).
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, third-party services we partner with, and your rights regarding your data when you use MangaReaderNeko. By downloading, installing, subscribing to our Premium features, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
2. Information We Collect
MangaReaderNeko is designed with privacy at its core. We do not require you to create an account, register, or provide personal credentials to use our Service.
The Service is completely registration-free. We do not collect your name, email address, password, or any personal user profiles. You can browse, read, and manage your manga library immediately upon launch. For backend API communication and purchase state management, the App utilizes an anonymous, pseudonymous guest session.
In-App Purchases and auto-renewing subscriptions are processed exclusively through Apple App Store In-App Purchases (StoreKit) and Google Play Billing, and verified via RevenueCat. We do not receive, process, or store your credit card or financial account numbers. We only receive pseudonymous transaction identifiers, purchase tokens, subscription active status, and entitlement records necessary to unlock Premium Features.
Your reading history, chapter progress, bookmarks, favorite titles, and app preferences are stored locally on your device using iOS local persistent storage (SwiftData). This data remains on your device and is not linked to your personal identity.
We automatically collect technical diagnostic information to maintain app stability, prevent abuse, and optimize performance:
- Crash Reports: Collected via Firebase Crashlytics to diagnose and fix app crashes.
- Device & Network Metrics: Device model, operating system version, app version, and IP address (used temporarily for edge routing, rate limiting, and DDoS mitigation via Cloudflare).
- Advertising Identifiers (Free Tier): For users of the free version, third-party advertising partners (Google AdMob) may collect pseudonymous device identifiers (such as IDFV or, if permitted under Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, IDFA) to deliver advertisements.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for specific, lawful operational purposes:
- To deliver and optimize manga discovery and reading capabilities.
- To verify and synchronize your Premium subscription entitlements via RevenueCat.
- To maintain your reading history, library bookmarks, and settings locally on your device.
- To diagnose technical crashes, monitor system performance, and release bug fixes.
- To protect our infrastructure against bot scraping, abuse, and security threats.
- To display in-app advertisements to non-premium users in accordance with your privacy choices.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties.
4. Advertising & App Tracking Transparency (ATT)
Non-premium versions of the App may display advertisements served by Google AdMob.
- Apple App Tracking Transparency: On iOS 14.5 and newer, the App requests your explicit permission before tracking or accessing your device's Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA).
- If you grant permission: Google AdMob may use your IDFA to serve personalized, relevant advertisements.
- If you decline or ask the app not to track: You will still see ads, but they will be contextual, non-personalized ads based solely on content or general location.
- Ad-Free Experience: Subscribing to MangaReaderNeko Premium completely removes all third-party advertisements from the App.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We partner with trusted third-party technology providers to operate our infrastructure and deliver the Service. These providers only process data in accordance with their strict privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Google LLC): Anonymous authentication, Firebase App Check (bot protection), and Firebase Crashlytics (crash reporting). Google Privacy Policy

6. Data Retention & User Data Deletion (Apple Guideline 5.1.1)
No Account Required: Because MangaReaderNeko does not feature user account registration, we do not create, store, or maintain personal user account profiles on our servers. Under Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v), apps that do not include account-based features are not required to provide account deletion mechanisms.
Complete User Control Over Local Data: You have complete, direct control over all data stored by the App at all times:
- Delete Reading History: Open the App ➔ Navigate to Settings ➔ Data & Storage ➔ Delete History to erase all chapter reading logs.
- Clear All Data & Cache: Open the App ➔ Navigate to Settings ➔ Data & Storage ➔ Clear All Data to wipe all reading history, favorites, offline cache, and preferences.
- Uninstalling the App: Deleting or uninstalling the MangaReaderNeko app from your iOS device immediately and permanently deletes all locally stored databases, caches, and preferences from your device.
Diagnostic crash logs collected by Firebase Crashlytics are anonymized and automatically purged within 90 days. For any privacy or data inquiries, you may contact us at [email protected].
7. Age Requirements & Children’s Privacy
The Service is intended for individuals who are at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area and United Kingdom, or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal data from children under 13.
If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you represent and warrant that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Use on your behalf. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal data without verified parental consent, we will promptly delete that account and all associated records.
8. Data Security
We employ robust technical and organizational security measures to protect your information, including industry-standard SSL/TLS encryption in transit, strict origin authentication locks, and Firebase App Check attestation. However, no electronic transmission or digital storage method is 100% immune to potential compromise, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Legal Rights (GDPR & CCPA/CPRA)
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have specific privacy rights, including:
- Right of Access & Portability: Request a copy of your personal data held by us.
- Right to Rectification: Correct inaccurate or incomplete account details directly in the app.
- Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): Request the permanent deletion of your personal data.
- Right to Withdraw Consent: Revoke advertising tracking consent at any time via iOS Settings ➔ Privacy & Security ➔ Tracking.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect technological improvements or legal requirements. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification or an updated effective date. Continued use of the Service following the posting of changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
